The current government has had 12 long years - ample opportunity to turn this province around, and things have only gotten worse.

IN 1999 NDP PROMISED:

·       REDUCE WATING LISTS BY 30%

·       HIRE 500 NEW HEALTH CARE WORKERS

IN FACT:

·       WAITING LISTS ACTUALLY INCREASED NOW HAVE LONGEST WAITING LISTS IN THE COUNTRY

·       LOST MORE THAN 200 NURSES

The NDP would have you believe they are the saviors of medicare and that the Saskatchewan Party will implement a two tier health care system.

Well, guess what - we already have a two tier health care system:

                  ·      We have one system for our urban residents and another

                        for our rural.

·       It was the NDP, not the Saskatchewan Party that closed 52 Health Care facilities in this province.

·       It was the NDP that closed the Plains Health Centre at a cost of over $130 Million Dollars

·       The fact is, those who can afford it. opt to access health care outside the Province rather than risk the inordinate waiting lists.

·       Frankly, the only thing universal about our current health care system is that it is universally deficient for everyone.

THE SASKATCHEWAN PARTY IS COMMITTED TO:

· Investing $100 Million in a State Of The Art Integrated Health Care Facility.

· Adding 240 new nursing training seats.

· Implementing Tax Incentives to ensure that we keep those nurses and other health care professionals here.

· Increasing the Provincial Share of health care capital contributions from 65% to 85%

· Purchase of a fixed wing air ambulance - ensure rural residents have access to quality health care.

· Creation of an Institure for Research and Treatment of Diabetes and Nephrology .

· Creating Strategic Alliances with world class health care facilities like the Mayo Clinic - Ensure our people have access to expertise we could not otherwise attract.

SAKATCHEWAN PARTY HAS NO PLANS TO FURTHER PRIVATIZE OUR HEALTH CARE SYSTEM.

HOW WILL WE AFFORD IT:

· Put an end to the wasteful practices of the Crown Corporations.

· Only Provincial Party that has committed itself in writing to balanced budgets by the end of the first term.

· When the deficit is brought under control, implementing targetted tax cuts .

The NDP would also have you believe that the Saskatchewan party will privatize our health care system. Actually, they've already done it.

· Chiropractic and Physiotherapists, Dental, Private Care Homes, Ambulance and EMT Service,

· MRI's in Alberta (only when opponent makes issue public)
